Five For Fighting – The Riddle

There are secrets that we still have left to find,
There have been mysteries from the beginning of time,
There are answers we’re not wise enough to see…

Well, you know I’m a big fan for this band, right? Yep, Five For Fighting is my all time favorite band. Mainly, because their song usually speak about deep things on life that usually cannot meet the eye. Beside, most of their lyrics are really reflect life in general.

“The Riddle”, from the “Two Light” 2006 album, is my “everyday” song. It’s like “the theme” song of my life. Because I can really “connect” with the meaning that is presented. It’s talking about the riddle that I found in my daily life. It also speak about “The Riddle” about my future because we don’t know what future holds, right?

It also “the reminder” for me about what I’ve done so far. I understand that, lots of thing that I have yet to learn, to be more wise towards what happened because there are answer we’re not wise enough to see, and at some point I realized how that I am so “naïve” to face the obstacle that life throw at me.

Then, for sure there is “dialogue” between father & son on the song. The simple & “innocent” question from the kid to his Dad, but really have deep meaning.

“Dad, I’m big but we’re smaller than small,
In the scheme of things, well we’re nothing at all..
And Hey Dad, here’s a riddle for you, find the Answer
There’s a reason for the world, You and I…

I said, “Son for all I’ve told you,
When you get right down to the reason for the world,
Who am I?”

A Fine Frenzy – Lifesize

I listened this song on How I Met Your Mother, Final Episode Season 5. It was splendidly chosen. Such a calming voice & sweet melodies.

The song was a soundtrack for the best ending ever on amazing quotes : “Kids, you can ask the universe for signs for all you want..But ultimately we only see what we wanna see,…When we’re ready to see it..”

Well, the song is about, I think it’s like, we all want to be great in the eyes of someone. It’s about how people feel when they are in love, they have someone in the world who sees them in a different light. But, It’s more than just about love, it’s also about feeling good about yourself, knowing you are someone special. It’s just so fantastical, isn’t it?

“Larger than lifesize, wondersome
Great in the eyes of someone”
“Larger than lifesize, wondersome
Great in the eyes of someone”

Love Spit Love – Am I Wrong?

I’ve been listening for this song for quite a while for now. And, I really feel that I can relate closely with it. I think this song is a sad song, a bittersweet song, but it’s also a little optimistic. He’s letting go of something that needs to be let go of, it seems. And, he’s accepted that it’s over, it’s for the best. But, it’s still sad to have to leave it. Right? Am I close? or, Am I wrong?

I mean, it is about someone who is confused with life. This person is turning away from what they once believed in and trying to find new meaning in life. Well, It focuses on the uncertainty that we all feel sometimes.. The lyrics are quite powerful, such as : “Lay the blame on luck”, “You let life get in your way..”, etc. I think, We’ve ever done that in our life, don’t we..?? And, not to mention that the ballads melody is totally addictive..!!

When I hear this, my mind keep telling myself trying not to hold on to long, that can leave deep scars, that may not heal. Try to be strong for yourself, cause I am worth it. What I’ve been going through right now (whether career terms, love, etc), I know that these will all make sense some day..

Goodbye, lay the blame on luck..
Goodbye, Lay the blame on luck..
Goodbye, Lay the blame on luck..

Yep, Enjoy the song & video below.. Although, the song itself is way better from the video, but I hope you can enjoy it as well as me.. 🙂

The Fray – “Never Say Never”

The Fray - Never Say Never

What’s the key to The Fray’s success? Songs you can relate to. And, The Fray return with the second single “Never Say Never”. I’ve been enamored by the piano-ballads stylings of this song since the very first time I heard. “Never Say Never” is such a masterpiece that present on the soundtrack of the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen..

The song is about a direct love between two people who are “pulling apart and coming together again and again”..

And yet, The Fray described it perfectly..

I think “Never Say Never” as “a syrupy ballad” that is nothing short of astonishing. There’s falsetto towards the end and its romantic, wistful and full of understated grace. Backed by strings and a swelling rhythm section, it’s a polished and positive step forward for The Fray..

Yap, enjoy the song & video… 🙂

GreenDay – Wake Me Up When September Ends

wake-me-up-when-september-ends2
The song makes me think of September 11…Cause, It says September…
Although the song originally was centered around Billie Joe Armstrongs’ personal tragedy, Samuel Bayer created his own personal vision..
His interpretation is brought to life with both power and restraint,
and is likely to provoke tears, a visceral human response to pain..

But, anyways that’s what the song is about..You know, just like “this is life“,
and I think they portray that extremely well through this song…

They decided to make music video (you can see below) about the Iraq war because of its had a big effect on everyone..
It is fleshed out by images of young romance and graphic battle scenes.
The end of the mini-film’s story is ambiguous,
and this ambiguity gives “Wake Me Up When September Ends” much of its power..

For me, this song is the best form Green Day, ever..!!
This songs makes me think about how I miss the past of my life,
and at the same time It makes me look at the future and wonder..
Besides, a lot of things happen in my life in September…
My birthday, my thesis seminar, and also my final test of my bachelor thesis, etc…
